Set on a 400-acre private estate on Jamaica’s northern coast, the resort is famous for its location beside a two-mile stretch of beach.

Half Moon features three distinctive accommodation experiences.  With the Caribbean Sea to the north and lush hillsides to the south, guests may choose from Eclipse at Half Moon, Founders Cove at Half Moon, or Rose Hall Villas at Half Moon. There are 210 elegantly appointed rooms and suites, and 27 villas with easy access to resort amenities, along two miles of beachfront.

  • Ocean Junior Suite - Classic and charming, each Ocean Junior Suite affords guests with a relaxed living area, and a balcony or patio with lovely views of the Caribbean Sea. King-sized beds only.   • Pool Suite - Elegantly-appointed, no two suites are the same. These inviting accommodations each come with a separate living room connected to a spacious bedroom. The private balcony or patio offers a view of the pool. King or Twin Beds are available.   • Prestige Ocean Junior Suite These airy beachfront rooms and suites are spacious and well-appointed, featuring plantation style décor. Boasting four poster King-sized or double beds, the bedrooms lead off to expansive bathrooms. Step out on to the breezy patio or terrace and feel at ease by the breath-taking Caribbean Sea views afforded to these suite.   • Prestige Ocean Suite These larger suites exude style and charm. Complete with spacious living rooms and bedrooms, the Prestige Ocean Suites are meticulously designed for comfort and enjoyment. Featuring deep balconies or terraces, these rooms command spectacular views of the Caribbean and are ideal for peaceful living. King-sized beds available. Eclipse at Half Moon

The newest addition to the resort, Eclipse offers 57 luxurious and spacious accommodations, and is home to two restaurants, three bars, a market cafe, Fern Tree spa, a sweeping infinity edge pool anda brivate beachfront swimming cove.

  • Estate Ocean Room - Situated in one of four charming timbered Estate Houses, these ground-floor Estate Ocean Rooms include furnished patios while first-floor rooms come with wrap-around balconies.   • Estate Ocean Suite - These airy suites are ideal for guests looking for more indoor and outdoor living space. They are situated in private Estate Houses, surrounded by tropical gardens. Known for their versatility, each house provides suite-connecting capabilities for up to four bedrooms.  Perfect for entertaining, the Estate Ocean Suite features a wet bar, powder room and living area with French doors that open up to a large covered outdoor living space and dining area with seating for up to eight people. Rose Hall Villas  (Please refer to Important Information)

Offering 19 self-catering villas, all of which are fully staffed with a cook, housekeeper and butler.  

Each villa features:

Inside, indulge in comfort and sophistication with revamped layouts, family game rooms, state-of-the-art appliances, and stylish furniture. Each villa boasts upgraded bathrooms with luxurious amenities.
  • Premium Ocean Villas with five-to-seven bedrooms, - as detailed above but an oceanfront location. Six and seven bedroom villas will have infinity edge pools.

  • Haywards: With views of the Caribbean Sea and the Great House Grand Lawn, this open-kitchen restaurant prepares Jamaican inspired dishes for breakfast and lunch in an alfresco setting. Locared at Eclipse.  Open seasonally.  Relaxed dress code.
  • Sugar Mill: This award-winning fine dining restaurant is known for its unique twist on Jamaican cuisine, and its historical location – the former Running Gut Estate on the Rose Hall Sugar Plantation. Located at Half Moon golf course. Fine dining.
  • Il Giardino: Explore authentic Italian cuisine, inspired by imagination. Savour freshness, organic and seasonal ingredients.
  • Seagrape Terrace: Featuring al fresco dining, the Seagrape Terrace is known for its wide selection of dishes and international cuisine. Regarded as one of the best outdoor dining locations in Jamaica, this restaurant is also popular among guests for its diverse breakfast, lunch and dinner offerings. Enjoy internationally-themed buffets or choose from our extensive a-la-carte menu.

Following the completion of significant upgrades at Half Moon, including the opening in 2020 of Eclipse and 2021 remodelling of the Prestige Ocean Junior Suites in Founders Cove, the Rose Hall Villas will now be transformed in two phases:

  • Phase 1: 11 villas will undergo renovation starting on 10th April 2024 with a planned reopening on 16th November 2024.
  • Phase 2: The remaining eight villas will undergo renovation starting on 10th April 2025, with a reopening scheduled for 14th November 2025.

The villa accommodation will remain open and available for bookings during these periods. These upgrades encompass a comprehensive modernization of our multi-bedroom and self-catering accommodations, celebrated for their privacy and exclusivity. The renovation will maintain the structural integrity while introducing revised layouts, luxurious finishes featuring wood and stone, and contemporary furnishings infused with tropical textures.
Each villa will offer an enhanced pool experience, including cabanas equipped with large-screen TVs, grills, and expanded seating for outdoor entertainment. Additionally, several villas will feature new infinity edge pools overlooking the Caribbean Sea.

  • No work will be taking place from 15 November 2024 to 10 April 2025.
  • Work will take place from 9am-5pm during the dates detailed above. All work will be hidden from view and will only be visible whilst in transit to the villas being redeveloped in phase two at the east end of the estate.

Half Moon is located on a vast estate and heavy machinery will not be heard from Eclipse or Founders Cove, however guests staying in the phase two villas will hear machinery between 9am-5pm.
