A romantic St Lucia honeymoon with Lorraine & Mark

Lorraine and Mark travelled to St Lucia and stayed at Coconut Bay Resort & Spa. Here's what they had to say:

We’ve been to the Caribbean a few times before, including Barbados and Antigua, but our time at Coconut Bay Resort & Spa in St Lucia in 2014 really impressed us – so we decided to spend our honeymoon there in 2015 too.

We really like this resort because it’s so spacious, it caters for families as well as adult only groups, but there’s plenty of space for everyone to relax peacefully and enjoy their holiday as they wish. During our honeymoon we used the spa facilities which were fabulous, and certainly one of our highlights of the holiday.

Everyone at the resort was friendly, but Marvin who served us in Silk really impressed us; he was very welcoming and attentive and took the time to ask us how we had enjoyed our day. The food is fantastic too, and there’s no limit to the number of times you can dine in the restaurants. We particularly enjoyed Silk, but the Bar Grill was a great mid-afternoon pit-stop for a chicken wrap.

We spent a lot of time at the adults-only pool too, and met quite a few different couples whilst enjoying the hot tub - for a couple of nights the hot tub was full and it was a really good atmosphere! The resort was everything we hoped for, and I must say the spa facilities were top notch. The five minute transfer from the airport was great too – though as the beach is on the ‘Atlantic’ side of the island the waters aren’t as tranquil as the other side. This doesn’t detract from the holiday though as the resort more than makes up for it!

Having rented a car in 2014 to explore the island, this time around we didn’t venture too far from the resort. We did take a trip to the Mud Baths though which was a great experience and we would recommend getting there early when it’s less busy. Another highlight was visiting the Piton Waterfalls and swimming in the beautiful clear warm water and relaxing on Sugar Beach.

St Lucia really has some stunning natural wonders and the island utilises them to their best effect, and we are very much looking forward to our next escape to the Caribbean.

We would like to thank Lorraine & Mark for sharing their story with us and hope to welcome you on another holiday soon..
