Useful facts for your holiday to Khao Lak
Flight and Transfers
There are no direct flights from Ireland to Khao Lak. Getting there requires flying to Phuket, which averages at around 13 hours from Dublin. From Phuket you’ll take a bus or taxi to Khao Lak.
Visa Requirements
For trips of 30 days or less, Irish passport holders do not require a visa. You’ll just need a minimum of six months on your passport, a return or onward ticket and proof of sufficient funds.
Language
Thai is the official language, but workers in the tourism industry will generally be able to speak English.
Transportation
Taxis and songthaews are the most sensible way of getting around. You can rent motorbikes but you should understand that Thai driving is not easy at the best of times.
Currency
The local currency is the Thai baht.
