A laidback stay in the Maldives with Chris & Mary

Chris and Mary went on our Glimpse of Sri Lanka tour and then travelled on to the Maldives and stayed at Cinnamon Hakuraa Huraa. Here's what they had to say:

At first we had planned to take a romantic, relaxing trip to the Maldives, but when we learnt that we would need to stop over in Sri Lanka, we knew we had to make the most of it. The Glimpse of Sri Lanka escorted tour was exactly what we needed – a taste of the incredible island before jetting off to sun, sea and sand at the luxurious Cinnamon Hakuraa Huraa in the Maldives. Our holiday from then on became better than we could have imagined - getting to see what Sri Lanka has to offer, as well as enjoying the fabulous delights of the Laccadive Sea.

We’ve enjoyed a variety of escorted tours before, including Egypt, Kenya, Iceland and India, but we were very impressed with the quality of our guide, and loved being chauffeured both on the tour, and to and from the airport. Bliss! The best part of our Sri Lanka stopover was definitely the detailed tours of the island’s many fascinating sights, and spotting the elusive wildlife. Our personal guide really was spectacular; we thought the quality of the tour was second to none.

Cinnamon Hakuraa Huraa in the Maldives is the most tranquil, romantic, laidback island-beach resort you can find - it was a pleasure to stay at and we truly fell in love with it. The most memorable part was the freedom to wander around your own personal island and do whatever you wished, whenever you pleased.  The members of staff were fabulous; we were so impressed with the quality of the service and it completely exceeded our expectations on so many levels because of this. We honestly wonder how many weeks we could have stayed there before we even thought about going home!

The choice and quality of the seafood at the hotel restaurant was unbelievable. Our most memorable meal was at the Hakuraa Huraa New Year’s Eve celebrations, where there was more choice than we could even imagine, and it was all sublime.

Honestly, three days in Sri Lanka and one week in the Maldives is not enough, we spent the whole holiday laughing continuously and the people we met and the staff who helped us really made this the holiday of a lifetime. We even keep in contact with some of the guests who were at the resorts.

We have lots of fabulous memories of our twin centre holiday in the Indian Ocean.
