Day 3
Exploring the Vestfjords
Discover the Vestfjords, a less-traveled yet stunningly beautiful region of Iceland known as the country's best-kept secret. This day-long exploration of Iceland's oldest region reveals a dramatic landscape where fjords and mountains meet the sea. Experience a visual feast of cliffs, waterfalls, colorful beaches, green hills, and remote fishing communities, all steeped in rich maritime history dating back to the Vikings. Enjoy sightings of Icelandic sheep and horses amidst this rugged, scenic peninsula at Iceland's northwestern edge, a gateway to the Atlantic and East Greenland.
Day 4
Cruising
While sailing across the Denmark Strait towards the north, your Expedition Team will get you ready for the upcoming adventures. They'll share insights about the Arctic's rich history, political landscape, captivating wildlife, geology, ecology, and climate, along with previews of the extraordinary sights you're about to encounter. Additionally, the team will keep an eye out for seabirds and whales that are commonly seen in these waters.
Days 5 to 12
Exploring the Northeast Greenland
Explore Greenland's northeast coast with Zodiac cruises and shore visits, including the muskoxen-rich Northeast Greenland National Park. Sail through the stunning Scoresby Sund, known for its beautiful fjord system and iceberg births. Discover vibrant tundra, Thule ruins at Frederiksdal and Sydkap, and interact with Inuit communities in Ittoqqortoormiit. Enjoy potential northern lights sightings, the striking scenery of Røde Ø, and magnificent views at Kong Oscar Fjord, with possible stops at the rugged Ella Ø and the floral paradise of Botanikerbugt on Ymer Ø.
Day 13
Cruising
As your Arctic journey draws to a close, engage in various activities during your sea time. Attend enlightening presentations by onboard experts, share your trip photos, enjoy an icy cocktail at the bar, or watch a movie. Your Expedition Team remains available to answer questions and highlight any wildlife sightings.
Day 14
Depart Reykjavik, Iceland
At the conclusion of your journey, you will disembark in Reykjavik, the capital of Iceland. For those with post-expedition accommodations booked, a transfer to a central location downtown will be provided.
