Overview

Framed by the Devil’s Bridge National Park along the unspoilt northeast coast of Antigua, this gorgeous retreat boasts a beautiful island backdrop for a tropical oasis wedding. With two sugary sand beaches and glistening ocean views, it’s the ideal spot for those hoping to marry in paradise.

There are a few wonderful ceremony venues on offer here. The most popular is Rasta Beach – what could be more divine than saying I do with your feet in the sand and the ocean calmly lapping on the shore nearby? If you’re hoping for the phenomenal beach views but less sand, the Rasta Beach Gazebo is an excellent choice, offering you all the beauty on drier land.

If you’re hoping for a small and intimate wedding of less than 20 people, we’d recommend the Hill Top Gazebo – the sunset views here are stunning in photos, whilst the Hideaway Gazebo lends its name to its wonderfully secluded location. This location is the most private of them all, and there’s a lovely small reception area for your cocktail hour, too.

The resort itself is all-inclusive and family-friendly, flanked by two powdery beaches and home to a plethora of splendid dining options. It’s a truly relaxed retreat with laidback vibes and natural beauty all in one.

More Information

There’s nowhere more glamorous than The Verandah Resort & Spa in Antigua. Its panoramic terraces, scented gardens and breathtaking beaches are all suitably romantic venues for an unforgettable wedding ceremony handled by their onsite professional wedding planners.

There are a choice of beautiful settings for your ceremony including Rasta Beach, the most popular location for couples to get married. What could be better than getting married barefoot, sinking your toes into the sand, right on the beach? This beach is located on the east side of the island and has a wonderful view of the Atlantic Ocean.

Rasta Beach Gazebo is perfect for couples that wish to have a beach wedding but not get sand in their toes. With a walkway, this is perfect for brides that want to wear heels and still hear the water splashing on the beach with a beautiful view of the Atlantic Ocean.

The Hill Top Gazebo is perfect for couples and groups of 20 people or less. The turquoise water and breathtaking backdrop make it the perfect location for sunset photos.

The Hide-Away Gazebo is ideal for couples who desire a private ceremony away from other guests at the resort. Adjacent to the gazebo is a small reception area for cocktail hour.

Translation of documents
All legal documents must be in English or legally translated into English. All translated documents must be from a legal translator with letterhead, stamp and seal from the translator's office or notarised by a Notary Public. Occasionally the documentation will have to be sent to the Foreign and Commonwealth Office for their approval before being sent back to the notary to sign.

The Wedding ceremony
In most destinations, your wedding ceremony will be conducted Monday to Friday (excluding local holidays). In some destinations, local festivals and holidays will determine available wedding dates. Generally, your wedding will take place in the grounds of the hotel unless otherwise specified. Many hotels offer wedding gazebos for extra privacy. Some hotels may offer more than one wedding per day with the first wedding taking place at around 10am and the last wedding about 4pm. The majority of weddings are conducted by a marriage officer whose title varies depending on the resort. Where it is possible to be married by a minister, the ceremony will be non-denominational unless otherwise stated and will be a civil wedding.

The information given above only apply to couples:

  • who are born in the UK
  • with a valid 10 year UK/Irish passport, valid for at least six months beyond the proposed stay.

If couples do not fulfil these requirements they must advise us. Couples should be referred to the embassy of the country of origin and the country where they wish to marry as they may require extra documentation to satisfy their own embassy requirements. Tropical Sky cannot advise on this and couples must investigate this on their own.

As Tropical Sky have no jurisdiction over hotels/resorts/venues/legal requirements and their charges, we cannot be responsible for any increases or changes to these wedding arrangements. We will, however, endeavour to advise you of changes as soon as we are made aware of them.
